Join our dynamic family medicine practice as a Front Desk Receptionist and become the welcoming face of our healthcare team! We are a busy, patient-centered family medicine practice caring for patients from newborns to geriatrics. In addition to traditional primary care, we also incorporate alternative/integrative medicine, aesthetic services, and in-office retail products. You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate appointment scheduling, and efficient management of medical records. Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical billing processes, including collection of payments
Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) system, Epic
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and care plan documentation
Assist with intake procedures, patient check-in/out, and updating demographic information in electronic health records
Support clinical staff by coordinating patient flow and managing appointment schedules in a busy clinic environment
Perform clerical tasks such as scanning, data entry using 10-key typing skills, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems
Requirements
Proven experience as a medical receptionist or front desk administrative support in a healthcare setting, preferably in family medicine or dental clinics
Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, including Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures
Familiarity with Epic
Ability to handle medical coding tasks, including CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10) accurately for billing purposes
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and other office management tools
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing responsibilities
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times
