Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our brand-new primary care practice. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your energetic approach will help coordinate appointments, manage medical records, and facilitate effective communication between patients and clinical staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while honing your administrative and medical support skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and handle check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and enthusiasm
Schedule appointments efficiently using Elation electronic health record (EHR) system.
Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification processes
Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls accurately and promptly
Maintain accurate medical records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
Assist with medical billing processes including coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), documentation review, and collection of payments
Support clinical staff by managing patient intake forms, updating health information and function as a medical assistant when needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative role with clinic or dental office experience preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and health insurance processes including Medicare
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies is essential
Prior experience with dental terminology or hospital experience is a plus
