Responsibilities
As our Medical Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in keeping our front office running smoothly.

Key Duties:
Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out efficiently and with a smile.

Schedule patient appointments and surgeries in coordination with providers.

Verify insurance eligibility, review benefits, and obtain authorizations and referrals.

Calculate and collect patient copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket amounts.

Answer multi-line phone system and respond to patient inquiries professionally.

Manage patient records, faxes, and scanned documents in the EHR system (AthenaHealth experience preferred).

Process medical records requests and assist with billing or benefits-related questions.

Collaborate closely with the clinical and administrative team to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance at all times.

Qualifications:
1+ year of customer service or medical office experience (front desk or patient coordinator experience preferred).

Experience working with insurance verification, authorizations, or referrals is highly preferred.

Familiarity with AthenaHealth EHR is a plus.

Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Positive, professional attitude and a commitment to delivering 5-star patient service.

Strong computer proficiency and comfort learning new software.

Schedule
Full-time: Monday through Friday
In-person, South Tampa location. * This position is also for Lakeland and Clearwater offices, as well as Tampa, and requires travel back and forth. Mileage will be paid.*
Schedule may vary slightly based on patient and office needs
