Job Description
Position Overview: This role involves coordinating complex clinic schedules and serving as a key resource for non-clinical information, scheduling inquiries, and phone support.
Education, Training, and Experience:
Post-secondary education in office administration (preferably in a medical field) or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Scheduling experience in a high-volume clinic environment.
Responsibilities:
Schedule, coordinate, and confirm referrals and appointments, utilizing sound judgment to reschedule or book appointments based on changing priorities, ensuring alignment with provincial access targets.
Coordinate and schedule diagnostic tests and follow-up appointments to meet patient needs effectively.
Monitor and track external referrals, ensuring timely follow-up on reports.
Register patients in the patient database system and ensure all required reports are attached.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient and staff personal and health information.
Lead proactive scheduling efforts, considering physician availability, referral volumes, and other relevant factors.
Assist in patients tests (ECG and Holter hook ups) as needed,
Experience:
6 months to 1 year of recent experience as a Medical Office Administrator is the minimum requirement.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal communication skills in English, with a professional phone demeanor.
Proven ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with organizational and interpersonal abilities.
Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Ability to demonstrate initiative and sound judgment appropriate for the position.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
Capacity to handle assigned or delegated tasks with responsibility.
Ability to remain focused, flexible, and manage tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Farsi speaking skills is required
