Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative and clinical tasks efficiently. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations and accurate medical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and enthusiasm
Schedule appointments, coordinate patient flow, and manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical billing and collections using EHR platforms
Review and update medical records accurately while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations
Assist clinicians with clinical tasks such as intake procedures, documentation review, and preparing care plans
Support office management tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records
Handle administrative duties such as appointment reminders, patient follow-up calls, and referral requests
Skills
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system experience
Ability to review documentation thoroughly while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with healthcare workflows and dental terminology if applicable
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and documentation review
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
