Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented medical receptionist to join our team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and is an integral part of delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting daily clinical operations.
Duties
Greet and check in patients in a timely and professional manor
Assist patients with completing online registration - Phreesia (Provide and scan paperwork when needed)
Verify and update patient demographic information in the EHR system
Efficiently schedule appointments according to provider availability
Collect copayments and process payments accurately
Verify referrals from primary care providers (PCPs) and insurance companies
Run and confirm insurance eligibility and benefits
Maintain and organize medical records
Prepare charts/documents for upcoming appointments
Respond to patient record request in accordance with policy
Answer incoming phone calls and transfer them to the appropriate department
Occasionally assist the pediatric provider during exams when he is in office (e.g. escorting patients, helping with prescriptions, administering eye drops)
Support clinical operations during early morning or late shifts
Qualifications
High school Diploma or equivalent required
Previous medical office/receptionist experience required
Strong customer service communication skills
Basic computer and data entry
Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology is a plus
Hours
Hours may vary and include early mornings, evenings and travel to satellite locations.
