Job Overview
As a Medical Dermatology Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of our healthcare facility, playing a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. You will manage front desk operations, coordinate patient scheduling, and maintain accurate medical records while adhering to all relevant regulations. Your positive attitude and exceptional organizational skills will help create a friendly environment for patients and staff alike. While this position will be mostly for Medical Reception duties, you may be asked to serve as a Medical Assistant where you will work directly with doctors and as a member of a team of medical assistants and master aestheticians.
What you’ll do
Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in and check-out process, ensuring a positive first impression.
Manage appointment scheduling with AdvancedMD, and using Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with Modernizing Medicine/EMA to optimize clinic operations.
Verify patient insurance information and handle medical collections while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Answering phones, monitoring faxes/emails, on-line appointment requests with professionalism, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
Communicating with staff and providers to assure the patients get their calls, prescriptions, requests and laboratory results in a timely fashion.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication regarding patient needs and care plans.
As a Medical Assistant, you may ssist the doctor with patient visits, scribe in the medical record, send prescriptions, complete prior authorizations, check labs, help the other medical assistants
Experience
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
Ability to learn dermatology medical terminology, and experience with prior authorizations would be ideal.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in medical billing or coding is advantageous.
