Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient scheduling. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for supporting patient care through organized and friendly service.

Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and providing excellent patient service.

Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize clinic flow.

Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures to ensure accurate billing and claims processing.

Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries and routing calls appropriately.

Assist with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical collection efforts to support revenue cycle management.

Maintain organized medical records, files, and documentation review to ensure compliance with health information management standards.

Requirements
Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office environment, preferably with clinic or dental experience.

Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.

Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.

Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with professionalism and discretion.

Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.

Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.

Strong communication skills paired with friendly phone etiquette and customer service orientation.
