Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service at the front desk
Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and coding with CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes
Collect payments and perform medical collections while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix to update patient information accurately
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring adherence to clinical confidentiality policies
Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and maintain organized filing of medical records and correspondence
Assist with insurance verification processes and coordinate patient intake procedures efficiently
Support medical office management tasks including scheduling, filing, data entry, and maintaining clinic supplies
Skills
Extensive experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or Eaglesoft
Proficiency in medical coding including CPT, ICD-9/10 coding for accurate billing and documentation review
Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers’ requirements
Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Demonstrated clinic or dental office experience with familiarity in dental terminology like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus
Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for administrative tasks
Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and appointment scheduling
Experience in medical billing, care plan coordination, insurance verification, and documentation review is preferred
