Medical Receptionists - Carefirst Family Health Team
The Carefirst Family Health Team (FHT) is seeking full-time/part-time permanent Medical Receptionists to join our innovative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, community-based care.

About Us
Carefirst FHT is committed to delivering exceptional, comprehensive primary care through a collaborative, team-based model that includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, service navigators, dieticians, physiotherapists, and medical receptionists. We have a robust Chronic Disease Management and Prevention program, including a Diabetes Education Program, and are actively involved in many of the Ontario Health Team’s primary care initiatives.

Our “Hub & Spoke Model” and strong community partnerships ensure coordinated, high-quality, patient‑centred care across the continuum. We work closely with Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association to provide truly integrated services.

On‑site & Integrated Programs/Services include:
· Ontario Health atHome (formerly Home and Community Care Support Services)
· MINT Memory Clinic
· Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program
· Specialist Clinics: psychiatry, cardiology, endocrinology, optometry, geriatric medicine, gynecology, chiropody, rheumatology, physiotherapy, and audiology
Clinic Locations
We currently operate four well-established clinics across Scarborough, Markham and Richmond Hill, and continue to expand in Markham and Stouffville to support continued growth and community needs.

Employees will be assigned to a location that aligns with their preferences and residence, with occasional rotation to support clinic operations.

We are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to fill a new position at our Family Health Team.

Terms: Full Time Permanent / Part Time Permanent
Pay range: $37,000 - $42,000 annually
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clinical support at the front desk to ensure smooth daily operations of the Family Health Team
Greet and receive patients for various physicians and other healthcare practitioners, coordinate efficient patient flow, and provide professional and caring interaction with patients
Responsible for booking appointments, scheduling patients, and providing follow-up; answering the phones, photocopying, receiving faxes and medical reports, and then scanning into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
Collect and process OHIP billing on a weekly basis
Maintain and manage patient files, charts, and records while safeguarding patient confidentiality
Requirements:
Diploma in Health Care Administration, Medical Office Administration, or related discipline
At least 1 years’ front desk experience, in a healthcare setting preferred
Exceptional telephone etiquette and customer service skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of OHIP billing and coding
Strong interpersonal skills, as well as being able to accept work from various sources (physicians, nurses, office manager)
Well organized and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, and EMR (Telus Practice Solutions) is an asset
Available to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
Fluent in English and a second language that reflects the community served, such as Cantonese, Mandarin, is an asset
A valid vulnerable sector police record check completed within one year
