Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical and dental office procedures, proficiency with electronic medical records, and excellent communication skills to ensure smooth daily operations within a busy medical or dental practice.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
Verify patient information and update medical records using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
Collect patient co-pays and insurance information accurately
Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments
Assist with billing procedures and insurance claims processing
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
Coordinate with medical or dental staff to ensure timely patient flow and appointment scheduling
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is highly preferred
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix
Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology and Office Procedures
Experience working in a fast-paced Medical or Dental Office environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail
Professional demeanor with a friendly, patient-focused attitude
Prior office experience in healthcare settings is desirable
