Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! Duties
Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency
Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and facilitate insurance verification processes
Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries promptly, provide appointment reminders, and handle phone etiquette with care
Assist with medical billing by coding procedures using CPT codes and ICD-10/ICD-9 diagnosis codes, ensuring proper documentation review for billing accuracy
Maintain organized medical records, file documents securely, and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix efficiently
Support clinical staff by preparing intake forms, updating care plans, and facilitating communication between patients and providers
Perform office management tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining office supplies to ensure a well-organized clinic environment
Experience
Prior experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or Eaglesoft is essential
Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, medical billing practices, and clinical confidentiality policies is required
Experience with dental terminology and dental office management systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus for dental clinics
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and administrative support
Demonstrated customer service excellence in healthcare environments with strong phone communication skills
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Clinic experience involving insurance verification, intake procedures, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and Medicare processes will be advantageous
