REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One-year secretarial experience, filing and general office procedures

On-the-job or in school of personal computer, printer, and word processor (MS Word) experience

Ten-key touch experience

Meeting the public in a professional office setting experience

Reliable Transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Medical office reimbursement or Medicare/Medicaid related to field of reimbursement experience

Insurance/billing experience

Computerized EMR/Practice Management systems experience

One year degree -certificate in business or health-care related field

Medical Terminology course(s)

Performs receptionist, scheduling, data processing, patient payment collection, accounts receivable, verifies current insurance and scans insurance cards. Verify demographics at each visit, scanning reports to the physician for signature. Research claims for the billing office. Assists customers concerning payment of account and provides a friendly, courteous reception. Knowledge of care coordination. Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to self-management support, such as patient coaching and motivational interviewing. Knowledge of population management and proactively addresses needs of patients and families served by the practice. Knowledge of effective patient communication for all segments of the practice’s patient population but particularly vulnerable populations.
