Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of oral surgical procedures including dental extractions, dental implants, and removal of impacted teeth with precision and care.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, clinical examination, and appropriate medical imaging to develop accurate diagnoses.
Utilize advanced dental terminology and medical terminology to document procedures clearly in medical records while adhering to HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontists, pediatric dentists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans.
Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and ensure all surgical tools and environments meet sterilization standards.
Provide patient education on treatment options, post-operative care, and address any concerns with clear client communication.
Stay current with the latest advancements in oral surgery techniques, dental diagnosis methods, and healthcare diagnosis standards to deliver top-tier patient care.
Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure in the practicing state.
Proven experience in oral surgery or related fields such as endodontics, periodontics, or general dentistry with a focus on surgical procedures.
Proficiency in dental office software including Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar electronic health record systems for medical documentation and dental fabrication records.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, medical imaging interpretation, and dental terminology essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Expertise in dental implants, root canal therapy, orthodontics support procedures, pediatric dentistry considerations, and prosthodontics is highly desirable.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly and compassionately.
Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and adhering to all state healthcare regulations governing medical records and patient privacy.
