Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. We are also open to hiring Dental Assistant with significant oral surgery experience. In this vital role, you will support oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up surgical tools, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures
Assist oral surgeons during surgeries by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort
Maintain accurate medical records, update electronic health records (EMR systems), and document procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer questions regarding treatment plans
Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure a sterile environment
Qualifications
Proven experience as a dental assistant, preferably within oral surgery or specialty practices such as prosthodontics or endodontics
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical documentation and records
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards
Ability to perform chairside assisting with precision during complex surgical procedures
Familiarity with dental imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner technology
Experience working with pediatric dentistry patients is a plus but not required
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding practices related to dental procedures
