Oral Surgery Dental Assistant

Chestnut Hill Oral Surgery is a busy, multi-doctor, single specialty practice located in Chestnut Hill, MA. We are seeking an experienced Surgical/ Dental assistant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our oral surgery team and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of oral surgery procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Surgical assisting under local anesthesia/IV sedation/nitrous oxide sedation, suctioning/monitoring airway, chin positioning, take and record vitals, EMR notes, medical history, assisting closely with surgeons.
· Take intra-oral, Panoramic and CBCT radiographs. Operate 3D intraoral scans.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the operating areas, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
· Tray set ups, autoclave, and packaging. Proper instrument processing/sterilization.
· PACU recovery, monitoring, record patient vitals and post-operative instructions.
· Work with many types of personalities and always remain professional.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS and/or REGISTRATIONS:
· Must have a valid Dental Assistant license from the Board of Registration in Dentistry for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or be eligible for one
· Current Dental Radiology, DAANCE and BLS certifications preferred

High school or equivalent
