Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting oral surgery procedures and delivering exceptional patient care. Duties
Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including extractions, biopsies, and implant placements, utilizing chairside assisting techniques.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient Management Software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels before, during, and after procedures while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer questions related to oral surgery procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control standards, including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on oral surgery or general dentistry; previous experience with oral surgery is highly preferred.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental x-ray procedures.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to oral surgery.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is a plus.
Certification in dental radiography (dental x-ray) and knowledge of infection prevention management practices.
Ability to work effectively in a team using four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, including aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
Excellent communication skills to manage patient care efficiently and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
