Job Description
Oral Surgery Assistant
Charles County Surgical Arts is seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Oral Surgery Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced surgical environment, communicates professionally, and is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities
Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, including extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and other oral surgery procedures
Prepare surgical rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials
Assist with IV sedation and anesthesia procedures as permitted by training and certification
Monitor and record patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures
Obtain and prepare dental X-rays and imaging
Maintain proper sterilization and infection-control protocols
Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients
Review medical histories and assist with patient preparation
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Restock surgical rooms and monitor clinical supplies
Support patient flow and work closely with the clinical and administrative teams
Qualifications
Dental or oral surgery assisting experience preferred
Experience with surgical procedures and IV sedation is a plus
Dental radiology certification preferred
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Strong communication and patient-care skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
