Job Description
ORTHODONTIC MODULE REQUIRED, RURAL LOCATION, RELOCATION MAY BE REQUIRED.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and orthodontic procedures, with a comprehensive understanding of dental assisting, orthodontics, and dental technology. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting orthodontists by preparing patients, managing clinical tasks, and ensuring smooth practice operations. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional orthodontic treatments while fostering a welcoming environment for patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures by taking and developing dental radiographs, and ensuring comfort throughout appointments.
Assist orthodontists during examinations, adjustments, and appliance placements with precision and professionalism.
Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and proper oral hygiene practices tailored to pediatric and adult patients.
Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly sanitized and organized.
Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing insurance documentation.
Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology for appliance fabrication or adjustments when applicable.
Experience
Prior experience in orthodontics is highly preferred; familiarity with orthodontic procedures is essential.
Knowledge of dental terminology relevant to dental and orthodontic treatments.
Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous for creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
Strong understanding of dental assisting practices, including sterilization techniques and clinical support functions.
Previous exposure to CAD technology or digital imaging tools used in appliance design or adjustments is a plus.
Certification in dental assisting from an accredited program is required; orthodontic mocule required
