Dougherty Orthodontics is looking for a high-energy, people-focused Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing practice. This is a fast-paced, hands on role, working directly with patients!

What You’ll Do
Assist the doctor during procedures
Take records on patients
Patient charting
Help patients understand the value of orthodontic care and next steps
Reporting
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a seamless experience
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Utilize technology and systems to stay organized and efficient
Prepare treatment area and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols.

Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with chairside assistance.

Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic, cephelometric, CBCT and 3D scans, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times.

Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, including appliance maintenance and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry and general dentistry cases.

Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing correspondence efficiently.

Experience
Orthodontic or dental experience preferred (we will train the right person!)
Experience in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment strongly preferred
Background in roles involving client relationships, case coordination, or performance tracking is a plus
IT or technical experience is a bonus
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially in orthodontics.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills is necessary for success in this role.
