Job Description
Orthodontic Assistant-EXPERIENCED ONLY!!!
*2 DAYS / WEEK*
Duties:
- Assist the orthodontist in providing patient care and treatment
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assist with orthodontic procedures, including placing brackets and wires
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and care instructions
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records
- Perform dental receptionist duties, including answering phone calls and managing patient paperwork
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in an orthodontic setting
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with dental software systems
- Understanding of medical terminology and dental anatomy
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Skills:
- Patient assessment skills to identify any issues or concerns
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Proficient in dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing paperwork
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Familiarity with dental software systems, such as Eaglesoft or CAD, for record keeping and treatment planning purposes
- Understanding of dental assisting techniques and procedures to assist the orthodontist effectively
