Overview
Mortenson Orthodontics is hiring a friendly, professional, experienced, orthodontic assistant to join our growing practice. We have multiple east valley locations (Gilbert, San Tan Valley, Mesa) so travel will be required. We offer competitive benefits, wages, and an excellent work environment. At least one-year orthodontic assistant experience required. Duties
Assist orthodontist during patient exams, procedures, and chairside activities with precision and care
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
Take digital photos and x-rays, including 3D scans as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions to promote optimal outcomes
Requirements
Minimum of one-year proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting, chairside assisting, and dental instrument processing
Strong knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology, equipment operation, and infection control procedures
Experience with patient management software is highly desirable
Ability to perform digital dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in dental radiography preferred
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
