Director of Orthodontics / Lead Orthodontic Assistant
Wakefield Dental – Dover & Cambridge, Ohio
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time
Wakefield Dental is seeking an experienced, motivated Director of Orthodontics / Lead Orthodontic Assistant to help grow and lead our orthodontic department. If you're passionate about creating beautiful smiles, delivering outstanding patient care, and mentoring others, we'd love to meet you!
This leadership role offers the opportunity to work alongside an exceptional clinical team in a modern, fully digital practice with advanced technology.
Responsibilities
Chairside orthodontic assisting
Wire changes and orthodontic adjustments (as permitted by state regulations)
Digital impressions and orthodontic records
Patient education and treatment coordination
Oversee orthodontic scheduling and workflow
Train and mentor orthodontic team members
Maintain inventory and clinical efficiency
Fabricate orthodontic appliances/retainers
Deliver an exceptional patient experience from start to finish
Qualifications
Orthodontic assisting experience required
Current Ohio dental assisting credentials and radiology certification (or eligibility)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Leadership experience is a plus but not required
