Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in orthodontic procedures, dental assisting, and patient care, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced clinical environment. Duties
Assist orthodontists during various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention management protocols.
Take dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to radiation safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practice.
Support the dental receptionist with light appointment scheduling.
Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining a professional demeanor that fosters trust and comfort among patients.
Ensure compliance with dental sterilization procedures and infection control standards in accordance with healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety protocols; experience with 3D scanners is desirable.
Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise coupled with meticulous attention to detail in maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
