Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional orthodontic care! In this energetic position, you will support orthodontists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with a passion for patient care, will help us create confident smiles and foster lasting relationships. Duties
Prepare treatment chairs with the necessary orthodontic instruments, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient procedures.
Assist orthodontists during various treatments including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance installations.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records using Cloud9 ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry and general dentistry cases.
Sterilize dental instruments following strict sterilization procedures and maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on orthodontics or pediatric dentistry preferred.
Familiarity with dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures.
Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating excellent patient care skills in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices is preferred.
Certification in dental radiography (X-ray) is highly desirable; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are a plus is preferred.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
