Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Orthodontic Clinician II, where your expertise will directly impact patient smiles and confidence! In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive orthodontic care, assist in complex procedures, and ensure a smooth patient experience from start to finish. Please note we have four (4) locations located in Annapolis, Gambrills, Bowie, and Greenbelt.

Responsibilities
Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, ensuring precision and efficiency.

Prepare treatment areas by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.

Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Take and develop dental x-rays, photos and 3D scans, accurately documenting findings for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices to promote optimal outcomes.

Support patient management by updating medical histories and managing clinical confidentiality policies.

Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless integration of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties as needed.

Qualifications
Proven six (6) months or more experience in dental assisting with a focus on orthodontics preferred; familiarity with chairside assisting techniques.

Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and infection control procedures.

Proficiency in EMR systems such as Cloud 9 and iTero or other healthcare software is a plus.

Certification in dental x-ray technology; knowledge of digital imaging including medical imaging and 3D scanner operation is advantageous.

Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive attitude toward patient care and team collaboration.

Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards is essential.
