Job Overview

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, materials, and equipment for orthodontic procedures.
Assist orthodontists during consultations, adjustments, and appliance placements using chairside assisting techniques.
Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management protocols.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene best practices.
Process dental instruments through sterilization procedures following strict aseptic techniques to maintain clinical safety standards.
Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software including EMR systems like Ortho II Edge for accurate record keeping.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures specific to orthodontics and general dentistry.
Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including intraoral imaging and 3D scanning technology.
Expertise in infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and providing compassionate patient care for children and adolescents.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and other clinical staff.
