About Us
Cuenin Orthodontics is an established orthodontic practice in Danville, CA with a family legacy in dentistry and orthodontics spanning over 70 years. Our team is close-knit, warm, and deeply committed to the patients and families we serve. We see approximately 50 patients daily. Our practice has about 500 active patients in treatment at a given time, of which 70% are children and 30% are adults. We treat approximately 65% of patients using traditional braces and 35% using Invisalign (clear aligners).
The Role
We're looking for a skilled, caring, and enthusiastic Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our team. You'll work directly alongside Dr. Kyle and Dr. Rob providing exceptional chairside care. The ideal candidate must be committed, detail-oriented, a team player, and a great communicator.
What You'll Do
Assist chairside during exams, procedures, and adjustments (bonding, banding, bracket placement/removal, wire changes)
Place and remove orthodontic appliances including separators, expanders, retainers, clear aligners, etc.
Take panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, iTero digital scans, intraoral photos, and impressions
Prepare and sterilize closely following OSHA and infection control protocols
Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and appliance care
Maintain accurate patient records in orthodontic practice management software
Support lab tasks and other clinical duties as a collaborative team member
Deliver a warm, positive patient experience at every visit
What We're Looking For
Current RDA license and/or Orthodontic Assistant (OA) permit
Current X-Ray and CPR certification
1 – 2+ years of orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred but not necessary; we are open to training the right candidate with a great attitude
Familiarity with orthodontic procedures, terminology, and appliances preferred (braces, Invisalign, bands, etc.)
Excellent communication skills and a genuine love of working with patients of all ages
