Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, friendly and skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our orthodontic dental team. The position is open for Mondays and Wednesdays. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthodontist during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent chairside manners, and the ability to work efficiently.

Responsibilities
Assist orthodontists during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.

Take and develop X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.

Maintain accurate dental records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.

Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including patient check-in and check-out.

Utilize 3D scanners for impressions when required, demonstrating proficiency in modern dental technology.

Present orthodontic treatment and make financial arrangements with patients and parents
Schedule patients appointments
Collect and record payments
Order orthodontic dental supplies.

Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in an orthodontic or pediatric dentistry setting.

Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.

Familiarity with dental documentation, coding, and record management.

Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
