Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Orthodontic Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance installations, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Educate patients on orthodontic care, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment instructions to promote optimal outcomes.
Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures, providing compassionate patient management.
Maintain dental equipment and sterilization procedures in accordance with infection control standards, including aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures.
Support front desk operations by assisting with patient management software tasks, scheduling appointments, and handling general reception duties as needed.
Qualifications
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent credential; experience specifically in orthodontics is highly preferred.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is a plus.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures related to orthodontics and general dentistry.
Experience with dental X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical confidentiality policies.
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration; experience in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery is advantageous.
Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment operation, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery procedures is desirable.
