Orthodontic Dental Assistant (Sunday1-2/month )

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our team for Sunday shifts, working 1-2 times per month. This vital role supports orthodontic procedures and patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical environment. Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary orthodontic supplies are ready for procedures
Assist orthodontists during patient appointments by handing instruments, managing suction, and ensuring patient comfort
Take dental impressions, record vital signs, and perform dental x-rays following safety protocols and aseptic techniques
Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely
Process dental instruments according to infection prevention management procedures and sterilization protocols
Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with experience in chairside assisting for orthodontics, general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate documentation and medical coding
Experience with dental imaging including X-ray procedures and 3D scanners for comprehensive treatment planning
Strong understanding of infection prevention practices, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise
Ability to perform vital signs assessment and manage pediatric dentistry cases when necessary
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate patients about treatment plans
