Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, supporting orthodontic treatment plans, and maintaining a positive patient experience. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment focused on delivering high-quality orthodontic services. Prior experience with dental hygiene and orthodontics is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a passion for patient education.
Duties
Patient Progress Reviews: Assessing oral hygiene, tracking tooth movement, and ensuring treatment is progressing smoothly.
Orthodontic Adjustments: Removing and replacing archwires, ligatures, and coordinating regular adjustment appointments.
Digital Imaging: Taking high-quality digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and 3D digital scans.
Debonding & Retention: Assisting with bracket removal, removing residual cement safely, and fitting patients for retainers.
Patient Education: Coaching patients (and parents!) on proper brushing, flossing with braces, and compliance with aligners or elastics.
Maintain accurate patient records using TOPS or similar dental management software
Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized care plans for each patient
Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment
Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally and compassionately
Skills
Proficiency in orthodontic software is highly desirable
Knowledge of Orthodontics procedures and treatment protocols
Strong understanding of Medical terminology relevant to dental care
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
Prior office experience demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
