Job Description
URGENT HIRING: Orthodontic Hygienist (Part/ Full Time)
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Orthodontic Hygienist to join our dynamic orthodontic team.
Position Details:
Schedule: 3 days per week
Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
July & August schedule ONLY: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive, fast-paced environment with a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional patient care.
Please note: We are closed on Fridays during July and August.
Our practice utilizes advanced systems including self-ligating braces, direct and indirect bonding, Invisalign, and LightForce custom braces.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality orthodontic care, assisting the orthodontist during procedures, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. We are willing to provide training for the right candidate.
Duties:
Perform orthodontic procedures under the supervision of the orthodontist
Carry out clinical responsibilities such as:
Bonding brackets
Repositioning and repairing appliances
Changing archwires
Debonding brackets and attachments
Removing excess cement
Inserting and adjusting retainers/appliances
Cementing bands and bonding attachments
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care during orthodontic treatment
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and appointment notes
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
Assist with general clinical office duties as needed
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Degree program in Ontario
Registered and in good standing with the dental hygiene regulatory authority in Ontario
Proficiency in dental assisting, medical terminology, and orthodontic procedures
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills—both written and verbal
Ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean, sterile environment
Strong time management and organizational skills
Experience in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, or bilingual proficiency is an asset
Familiarity with Ortho2 Edge software is a plus
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dental office environment
