Responsibilities
Diagnose orthodontic conditions through thorough patient assessments, including analyzing dental and facial structures using medical imaging techniques.
Develop customized treatment plans utilizing the latest orthodontic appliances, including braces, aligners, and retainers.
Perform dental procedures such as dental extractions, oral surgery, and root canal therapy when necessary to support orthodontic treatment.
Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment options, and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health.
Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and ensure the clinic’s compliance with all safety standards.
Utilize dental office software such as Open Dental documentation.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as an Orthodontist with current certification in orthodontics or related specialty.
Proven experience in dental office settings with a strong background in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and understanding of anatomy relevant to orthodontic procedures.
Hands-on experience with dental fabrication techniques and dental imaging technology.
Knowledge of Epic electronic health record systems is a plus but not required.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
Commitment to maintaining infection control standards and HIPAA compliance at all times.
