Job Description
Flexible, Meaningful, Mission Driven Opportunity
Tranquility Onsite Dental is seeking a part time General Dentist to provide onsite dental care to residents of senior living communities throughout the South Bay and Peninsula.
This is a unique opportunity for a dentist who wants meaningful clinical work, flexibility, and the chance to make a real difference for older adults who often have limited access to dental care.
We are seeking one part time dentist based out of our Santa Clara office. The schedule is typically 1 to 2 days per week, Monday through Thursday, with the opportunity to establish consistent working days.
About Tranquility Onsite Dental
Tranquility Onsite Dental provides onsite dental care to residents in assisted living, memory care, and senior living communities. Our patients include older adults with dementia, medical complexity, mobility limitations, and difficulty accessing traditional dental offices.
Our mission is simple: to bring compassionate, high quality dental care directly to the seniors who need it most. This work is deeply rewarding because our doctors are able to serve patients who may otherwise go without care.
About the Role
As a Tranquility dentist, you will visit senior living communities and provide care onsite using portable dental equipment. A typical day may include approximately 7-10 patients, depending on the community, patient needs, and visit type.
Our doctors work independently onsite, with virtual administrative support available. Our virtual assistants help with charting and notes so you can focus more fully on patient care.
This role is best suited for a dentist who enjoys caring for older adults and can remain compassionate and adaptable in a senior living environment. Some patients may have dementia, may be unable to cooperate fully, or may need extra time and patience.
The right doctor understands that success does not always mean completing ideal care. Sometimes success means protecting the patient’s dignity, documenting clearly, communicating well, and making a thoughtful plan for the next step.
Why You Will Love This Role
Flexible part time schedule with consistent days available
Meaningful work serving seniors who often have limited access to dental care
No production quotas or traditional multi column private practice scheduling
Dedicated virtual assistant support for charting and notes
All portable equipment, supplies, and sterilization are provided
Mileage reimbursement included
Training provided on our EHR, portable systems, and onsite workflow
Certified Dementia Practitioner training included
Mentorship and support available, including for newer doctors who are the right fit
Opportunity to practice dentistry in a way that is compassionate, patient centered, and purpose driven
Who Thrives in This Role
You may be a strong fit if you:
Enjoy working with older adults
Have a calm, warm, and patient chairside manner
Are comfortable caring for patients with dementia or medical complexity
Can adapt when a patient is anxious, confused, resistant, or unable to cooperate fully
Are comfortable working independently in a nontraditional clinical setting
Can stay professional and resourceful when facility workflows are imperfect
Value flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful patient care
Want to be part of a mission driven organization serving a vulnerable population
This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If You
Prefer a traditional dental office with a highly controlled schedule and setting
Are uncomfortable working independently onsite
Become frustrated when patients are not ready, refuse care, or need extra support
Need every day to run exactly as planned
Are looking only for short term work while waiting for another opportunity
Position Details

About the Opportunity
This is a deeply fulfilling role for the right dentist. You will provide care to patients who are often overlooked, underserved, and unable to access dentistry in a traditional way.
The work requires emotional steadiness, flexibility, and compassion. It also offers something many clinical roles do not: the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of seniors and their families while maintaining a flexible schedule and a strong sense of purpose.
If you are a dentist who values meaningful care, patient dignity, and mission driven work, we would love to hear from you.
