Part-Time Contract Dental Hygienist

Oral Health & Smile Design is a well-established dental practice with a loyal, long-term patient base and a reputation for gentle, unhurried care. We're looking for a contract Registered Dental Hygienist to join us one day a week to start, with flexibility on which day works best for you. There's room to add days over time if it's a strong fit on both sides.

This is a part-time 1099 contract position with a recurring weekly schedule, not a W-2 employee role. It's a great fit for a hygienist who wants a predictable standing day each week, a loyal recare population, and a clearly defined scope.

What the day looks like
Adult, recare-heavy schedule of prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, fluoride, and SRPs as indicated
Full digital workflow on Dentrix, with intraoral camera and digital x-rays
You'll work alongside our doctor on exams, with a clear handoff process so treatment moves from chair to scheduled appointment
Our front desk handles insurance verification and the walkout conversation, so you can focus on the patient in your chair
What we need from you in the chair
Thorough periodontal assessments and charting
Clean, accurate clinical notes that support the doctor's diagnosis and flag findings clearly
Patient education in plain language; most of our patients have been with us a long time and trust an honest conversation
Comfortable working off an established SOP (notes template, recare process, reference binder) on day one
Adhere to the standard of care at all times
Required
Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
Active state dental hygiene license
Current CPR certification
Comfortable with digital charting and intraoral imaging (Dentrix experience a plus)
Preferred
2+ years RDH experience in a private practice setting
Experience in a fee-for-service / out-of-network office
