PART- TIME DENTAL ASSISTANT

Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
Taking dental X-rays using digital imaging technology
Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other relevant patient information in electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix
Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to ensure understanding and compliance
Manage patient scheduling, confirm appointments, and support the dental reception duties while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality
Qualifications
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including X-ray procedures, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and assist with medical imaging procedures in pediatric or adult patients
Familiarity with dental specialties like endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, or orthodontics is advantageous
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists

Monday: 12:30pm - 7:00pm
Wednesday: 9:30am - 7:00pm
