Description:
Summary:
The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in dental procedures, post-op instructions, sterilization, preparation, inventory control of dental instruments and supplies, and for proper infection control of all areas involving dental care.
Essential Responsibilities
Directs and maintains patient flow, including patient admission and dismissal to ensure efficient delivery of services.
Prepares all necessary trays and instruments for dental procedures.
Exposes and develops dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and law as well as Dental Department directive and protocol.
Assist dentist during dental procedure in an efficient and professional manner.
Give written and oral post-op instructions and oral hygiene education to patients in a clear and concise manner.
Ensure that appropriate infection control guidelines are followed when cleaning/sterilizing instruments and preparing operatory.
Assist with the maintenance and lubrication of equipment.
Ensures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with dental department directive, WMCHC policy as well as state and federal regulations.
Handle patient information with utmost respect and confidentiality.
Stays in compliance with all HIPAA regulations
Position Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of two years of experience in a dental office setting.
Working knowledge and experience in all phases of dental procedures.
High School Diploma/GED.
Dental Assistant certification.
Current CPR certification
Bilingual English and Spanish.
Status: Part Time
