We are seeking a bright, motivated, dedicated, and skilled Dental Hygienist to help build our hygiene program and create patients for life. The perfect Dental Hygienist for this position will play a critical role in educating patients about appropriate oral hygiene techniques and offer counseling around how good nutrition impacts one's overall oral health. This role requires a commitment to maintaining patient records, adhering to HIPAA regulations, and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients. Our practice has patients of all ages and need levels. Periodontal disease treatment is a great need among the patients in our community as well.

Comfortable scheduling patients’ dental hygiene appointments
Registered Dental Hygienists are assigned duties and responsibilities which involve licensed professional work in providing dental hygiene services. A registered dental hygienist implements appropriate standard of care therapy, assists a dentist in providing hygiene, periodontal or dental care and treatment, provides dental hygiene assessments, creates treatment plans based on dentist's diagnosis, and conducts oral and overall health care education and instruction to patients. Our doctor is passionate about oral cancer screenings as well, and a dental hygienist must feel comfortable providing this service with the doctor.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages.
Maintain accurate medical records, documenting patient history and treatment plans.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Take and record vital signs as part of the initial patient assessment.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Utilize dental softwares Curve, Dexis, Prexion and more for scheduling and record management.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
Valid Louisiana license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Anesthesia permit preferred. Nitrous credential preferred but rarely needed.
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the oral cavity and dental health.
Proficiency in medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
