Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! This position will begin as part time and will eventually transition into full time. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing professional dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting overall clinic operations. This position is for those passionate about promoting healthy smiles while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Your expertise will help ensure our patients receive top-quality care in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging equipment, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health
Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, including handing instruments and managing dental equipment
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Follow infection prevention protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Skills
Proficiency with dental software system Dentrix for documentation and scheduling
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and medical imaging accurately
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and patient assessment
Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, infection control practices, and medical coding processes
Competence in managing electronic health records (EHR), documentation review, and medical records management
