Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and personable Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our positive, patient-centered dental team! Hygienists on our team are highly skilled professionals that do critical work. They are treated with kindness and respect. Our office has a genuinely good together. Our office has grown, so we need another team member
This position offers some schedule flexibility:
Thursday 12:00 to 6:00 with no lunch break.
Friday 8:00 to 2:00 usually 3 Fridays per month.
And either Tuesday or Wednesday with flexible hours.
Responsibilities
Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and dental examinations.
Take photos and dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and EHR management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, patient education, and team collaboration.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Experience with infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
