Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The position is for alternating Saturdays The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, promoting oral health, and supporting the overall operations of the dental office. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on patient education and comfort. Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a passion for improving patients’ oral health.
Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
Ensure a sterile environment by following infection control protocols
Manage patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and billing procedures
Support pediatric patients with gentle care and effective communication
Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations
Prior experience working in a dental office setting is preferred
Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable
Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and medical terminology is a plus
Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse patient populations
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
Experience in dental assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively
Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
