PART-TIME DENTAL HYGIENIST
Dental Office of Tampa
Position: Part-Time Dental Hygienist
Pay: $42–$46 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Monday 12 pm - 5 pm, Wednesday 8 am - 5 pm, Friday 8 am - 12 pm
About the Position:
Dental Office of Tampa is seeking a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our team. We are looking for a hygienist who takes pride in providing excellent clinical care while building meaningful relationships with patients.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, dependable, thorough, and committed to helping patients understand the connection between their oral health and overall health. Our hygienist plays an important role in identifying oral health concerns, educating patients, providing preventive and periodontal therapy, and working closely with the dentist and dental team to deliver comprehensive care.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Hygiene Services
Provide thorough and compassionate preventive dental hygiene care.
Perform adult and pediatric dental cleanings as appropriate to the patient's age, condition, and treatment needs.
Perform periodontal assessments and monitor patients' periodontal health.
Complete periodontal charting and document clinical findings accurately.
Perform scaling and root planing/periodontal therapy when diagnosed and within the hygienist's scope of practice.
Remove plaque, calculus, and stain using appropriate instrumentation and techniques.
Perform polishing and provide appropriate preventive treatments.
Apply fluoride and other preventive therapies when indicated.
Take and/or assist with dental radiographs as permitted by applicable regulations and office protocols.
Identify areas of concern and bring significant findings to the dentist's attention.
Monitor changes in periodontal conditions, oral hygiene, gingival health, and other oral findings from visit to visit.
Recognize signs or conditions that may require further evaluation by the dentist or another healthcare professional.
Pay: $42.00 - $46.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17.0 – 20.0 per week
