Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Part-Time Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) / Dental Assistant (DA), where your skills will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional dental services, ensuring a smooth workflow, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. This position offers flexible hours perfect for those passionate about making a positive impact in pediatric and general dentistry settings.
Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics with precision and professionalism
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to infection prevention management protocols
Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care, especially for pediatric patients
Maintain dental instrument processing standards, including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest infection control standards
Support front desk operations as needed by assisting with patient management software, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist
Requirements
Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) with current licensure where applicable
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable
Knowledge of dental equipment operation, dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently and confidently
Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health care and treatment plans while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
