Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part Time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health practices, and support overall patient well-being in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Assess patient oral health status by reviewing medical and dental histories, vital signs, and current symptoms.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting all patient interactions thoroughly.
Ensure infection prevention measures are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations.
Review medical records for relevant patient information, update documentation regularly, and ensure confidentiality at all times.
Support the dental team by managing equipment sterilization, inventory of dental supplies, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current registration credentials.
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with a focus on patient care.
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for electronic health record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health.
Experience with dental x-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging techniques.
Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
