Job Description

Arguello Dentistry is looking for an experienced dental front office professional who understands that the front desk plays an important role in the clinical, financial, and overall patient experience of a dental practice.

We are looking for someone who is organized, accountable, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player. This is more than a receptionist position. We need someone who understands dental scheduling, insurance, treatment coordination, follow-up, and how to build a productive schedule, not simply a full one.

Responsibilities
Manage and optimize the daily dental schedule
Understand appointment lengths, provider time, production opportunities, and schedule flow
Answer phones, texts, and patient inquiries professionally
Verify dental insurance benefits and explain patient financial responsibility
Collect payments and confidently discuss financial options
Present and coordinate treatment plans with patients
Follow up consistently on unscheduled treatment, recalls, and reactivation
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Prepare for and actively participate in the daily morning huddle
Communicate closely with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and the entire team
Work collaboratively to keep the office running efficiently throughout the day
Identify schedule openings and take initiative to fill them appropriately
Help with opening and closing the office, including completing assigned opening and end-of-day responsibilities
Maintain an organized, clean, and prepared front office
Complete assigned daily front-office tasks and follow through without constant supervision
Support teammates when needed and understand that everyone contributes to the success of the practice
Provide excellent patient service while maintaining office standards
Take ownership of responsibilities and communicate promptly when an issue needs attention
What We’re Looking For
Previous dental front office experience is required
Strong dental scheduling experience
Solid understanding of dental insurance and patient portions
Comfortable presenting treatment plans and discussing finances
Experience with recalls, reactivation, and unscheduled treatment follow-up
Understands the difference between a full schedule and a productive schedule
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Dependable, punctual, and accountable
Professional, friendly, and confident with patients
Able to prioritize and problem-solve in a busy environment
Strong team mentality and willingness to help wherever needed
Able to take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done
Comfortable with opening and closing responsibilities
Comfortable traveling between our Margate and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea locations
Bilingual English/Spanish required
Experience with Open Dental or another dental practice management system is strongly preferred.

The Right Person
You understand that a successful dental office requires teamwork. The front desk, clinical team, and doctors must communicate and work together throughout the day.

You arrive prepared for the morning huddle, understand what is happening on the schedule, follow through on outstanding tasks, and look ahead to what needs to happen next.

You are willing to help with opening and closing responsibilities, support your teammates, and complete your assigned tasks without being repeatedly reminded.

You understand that good front-office performance is about more than answering phones and filling appointments. Preparation, follow-up, communication, scheduling strategy, teamwork, and accountability matter.

If you are an experienced dental front-office professional who takes pride in being reliable, prepared, organized, productive, and a strong team player, we would love to hear from you.

Please do not call the office regarding this position. Thank you for your understanding.
