Job Description
We are a friendly, patient-focused dental office looking for an experienced and motivated Patient/Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and enjoys helping patients have a positive experience from the moment they schedule their appointment through the completion of their treatment.
Position Overview
The Patient/Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for managing the front-office patient experience, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance benefits, presenting treatment estimates, and helping patients understand their financial responsibilities.
Our office uses Curve Dental as our practice management system, so experience with Curve is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service
Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and manage appointment scheduling
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Check patients in and out efficiently
Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits
Obtain and document insurance information accurately
Submit and follow up on dental insurance claims
Review insurance estimates and explain patient benefits and financial responsibilities
Present treatment plans and discuss payment options with patients
Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
Monitor and follow up on outstanding insurance claims and accounts receivable
Maintain accurate patient records and financial information
Communicate effectively with the doctor, hygienists, dental assistants, and other team members
Help patients navigate treatment and insurance questions with professionalism and empathy
Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
Utilize Curve Dental for scheduling, patient records, insurance information, treatment plans, and billing
Qualifications
Previous dental front-office experience required
Experience with dental insurance verification and claims
Strong understanding of dental insurance terminology, benefits, deductibles, and annual maximums
Experience discussing treatment costs and financial arrangements with patients
Curve Dental experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to multitask in a busy dental office
Professional, friendly, and positive attitude
Reliable and able to work well as part of a team
Knowledge of HIPAA and dental office procedures

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
