Job Description

Cumberland Family Dental is looking for a receptionist to undertake a variety of office and clerical tasks in a busy dental setting. Qualified candidates need to be organized, competent, professional and possess great communication skills.

This opening is for two days per week. Our workday is 8am-5pm Monday through Friday with a one hour lunch break. We offer dental benefits, flex spending accounts, 401k and a 401k match along with paid vacation, paid sick time and unpaid personal time.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

-Maintain office workflow clinically and clerically.

-Clear and calm communication with patient and staff related to all aspects in delivering quality and effective routine and emergency dental care.

-Patient record maintenance. This includes both electronic and paper file data entry.

-Greet and assist patients arriving. Manage and assist patients via in person, multi-line phone, e-mail or other electronic communication methods related to appointing and finances. Checking patients out after appointments.

-Manage patient finances. This includes receiving over-the-counter and mail payments, filing dental insurance with multiple companies, dealing with financial issues/complaints on both patient and insurance companies' ends. This involves performing basic bookkeeping activities and being comfortable and well versed with the office management software system.

Requirements for qualified applicants:

-Experience as a receptionist in a dental setting is preferred but not required.

-High quality customer service.

-Working knowledge of contracted insurance, patient benefits, third party requirements, MS Office and computers, office equipment use.

-Typing proficiency and drafting communication documents for patients.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must. Reliability, professionalism and patience needed at all times.

-Organized and must possess the ability to prioritize and multitask.

-Ability to discuss finances with patients is a must have skill. Following up on accounts receivable and creating payment plans is a needed skill.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
