Job Description
Pediatric Airway Dental Assistant / Patient Experience Coordinator
Airway-Focused Pediatric & Concierge Dentistry
We’re looking for an exceptional Dental Assistant who genuinely loves working with children and families and wants to be part of something a little different from a traditional dental office.
Our practice focuses on airway health, growth and development, infant and pediatric tongue-ties, feeding, breathing, sleep, and early intervention. We provide highly personalized, concierge-style care and work closely with other healthcare professionals to help children thrive.
Clinical skills matter—but who you are as a person matters just as much to us.
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who:
Brings positive energy into a room
Chooses to be happy and looks for reasons to enjoy the day
Genuinely loves kids and knows how to connect with them
Can be silly, playful, and fun when a child needs it
Is calm, compassionate, and reassuring when a child or parent is nervous
Takes initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
Notices the little things that can make a family's experience exceptional
Wants to learn and grow
Enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team
Takes pride in providing an unusually high level of service
Some of the procedures we perform can be difficult or emotional for children and parents. We want someone who understands that our job isn't simply to get through the procedure—it's to help the child get through it.
Sometimes that means reassurance. Sometimes distraction. Sometimes patience. Sometimes celebrating a tiny victory like it was the biggest accomplishment of the day.
We want someone who finds meaning in that.
What You'll Be Helping With
Depending on experience and training, responsibilities may include:
Assisting with pediatric dental and airway appointments
Assisting with infant and pediatric tongue-tie procedures
Supporting children and parents before, during, and after procedures
Taking photographs, scans, measurements, and other clinical records
Preparing and turning over treatment rooms
Sterilization and infection-control protocols
Helping with airway and orthodontic appliances
Patient and parent education
Coordinating with myofunctional therapists, lactation consultants, ENTs, feeding therapists, and other collaborative providers
Following up with families after treatment
Helping create an organized, calm, welcoming clinical environment
Finding ways to make every child's visit more comfortable and enjoyable
This Probably Isn't the Right Job If...
You're looking for a position where you simply clock in, complete your assigned tasks, and clock out.
Our practice is small and highly personalized. Everyone contributes to the experience our families have.
We care about energy, attitude, ownership, kindness, and attention to detail.
This Might Be the Perfect Job If...
You love hearing a nervous child laugh.
You remember children's names and the things they told you at their last appointment.
You naturally look for ways to help your teammates.
You enjoy learning about areas of healthcare that aren't always taught in traditional dentistry.
You believe healthcare can be both highly clinical and genuinely joyful.
And you want to go home knowing that the work you did that day may have helped a child breathe, sleep, eat, grow, or feel better.
Experience
Dental assisting experience is preferred, particularly pediatric experience, but attitude, personality, emotional intelligence, and willingness to learn are extremely important to us.
Experience with pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, airway dentistry, tongue-ties, infant care, or special healthcare needs is a plus.
Bi-lingual would be great!
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to bring joy to the children and families we get to help—even on the tough days.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
Benefits:
Continuing education credits
Employee discount
Flexible schedule
Free parking
On-the-job training
Paid orientation
Safety equipment provided
Work Location: In person
