Job Summary
Join our dynamic pediatric dental team as a Pediatric Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive, comfortable experience for young patients. Duties
Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside support and four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital radiography, while maintaining proper HIPAA compliance for patient privacy and medical documentation standards.
Collect vital signs and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring safety by accurately recording medical records and medical terminology.
Manage patient flow by greeting families as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, updating medical records in OpenDental.
Educate children and parents on dental health practices using clear communication of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to promote good oral hygiene habits.
Maintain a clean, sterile environment by adhering to infection control standards, sterilizing instruments, and managing supplies efficiently.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with pediatric patients is highly preferred.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is essential.
Familiarity with OpenDental preferred
Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical imaging technology like 3D scanners is desirable.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation practices, and pediatric dentistry principles ensures compliance and quality care delivery.
